Environmental Club

Did you know that the very first advent calendars were produced in the 1800s in Germany? At first, Christians kept track of the days until Christmas by making chalk marks on their door.  Later,  24 candles were placed next to religious pictures to count down the days. In 1900’s there were advent calendars made of wood or fabric. Children nowadays have advent calendars filled with chocolates. The Environmental Club children made their own advent calendars in the shape of snowmen. They had lots of fun!
