A Special Meeting with Author Zuzana Kubašáková

Our Y5 students recently had the wonderful opportunity to meet Zuzana Kubašáková, the author of The Secret Book of Mrs Anger (Tajná kniha pani Zlosti), which is part of our Y5 required reading. In the lessons leading up to the event, we read excerpts from the book together, helping the students get to know the story and its characters before meeting the person who brought them to life.

The students prepared their own questions and were excited to ask them during the discussion. They were curious to learn more about the story, the characters and the writing process. One particularly surprising fact they discovered was that the author spent seven years writing the book!

Meeting a real author brought the story to life and gave the students a fascinating insight into the world of writing and storytelling. They also had the chance to get their books signed, making the experience even more special. It was a wonderful opportunity to share their thoughts, satisfy their curiosity and discover how much time, creativity and dedication can go into creating a book.

We are delighted to see our students so engaged with reading and grateful to Zuzana Kubašáková for taking the time to meet with us and inspire our young readers.

And the best part? Their enthusiasm for the book continued even after the event — some students were still reading it on the bus journey back to school! 📚😄
