Everyman – a morality play from medieval times that is still influential in our age.

MYP3 students have been introduced to the Dark Ages in Drama lessons and have learned about the very few perks of this era. Everyman is one notable drama play that stayed with us and students had the opportunity to get engaged with the moral of it.

“The story of Everyman,” a medieval morality play, holds enduring significance for MYP drama students, providing rich material for learning and personal growth. This allegorical tale, which follows Everyman as he is summoned by Death and must account for his life’s deeds, offers timeless lessons about human nature, morality, and the fleeting nature of worldly possessions. Exploring this play can deepen students’ understanding of thematic storytelling and character development.

Everyman’s journey prompts reflection on universal themes such as mortality, repentance, and the quest for salvation, making it relevant even in contemporary contexts.
