Organize Your Celebrity’s Week
This project worked well in practice because it gave students a clear role and a meaningful context for using Spanish. Students became the managers of a celebrity and planned a full weekly schedule of activities. At the beginning, students chose a famous person and explored what their typical week might include. This helped them generate relevant vocabulary connected to real-life situations such as travel, training, interviews, and recording sessions.
After that, the focus moved to language structure. Students practiced telling time and used a small set of key verbs like travel, train, and record. Instead of learning these in isolation, they applied them directly to their own schedules. The main task was the creation of a weekly timetable from Monday to Sunday with at least 20 activities written in Spanish. Most students created visual layouts using colours and simple design elements, which helped them organise their ideas more clearly.
Once the timetable was finished, students turned their notes into full sentences. For example, they wrote statements describing what their celebrity did at specific times during the week. This step helped reinforce accuracy and improved sentence structure. The final stage involved short oral presentations. Students described parts of their celebrity’s week and answered simple questions from their classmates. By the end, they were more confident because they were speaking about something they had created themselves.
Overall, the project supported vocabulary building, time expressions, and basic sentence structure. It also combined writing and speaking in a way that felt practical and manageable for most learners.
