A Festive walk at the Bratislava Christmas Market with Year 9
Friday 04/12/2025, I had the pleasure of taking our Year 9 students to the Bratislava Christmas Market my first time experiencing it with a class, and a moment I will definitely remember.
The market was full of colour, music, and the familiar smell of festive food. As soon as we arrived, the students spread out in groups, excited to explore the stalls, try traditional snacks, and take photos and some videos for their various projects. It was wonderful to see them enjoying the atmosphere, laughing together, and experiencing a little piece of Slovak culture outside the classroom.

What stood out to me most was how naturally they interacted with one another. They supported each other when choosing food, shared what they bought, and even debated which stall had the best treats. Watching them enjoy simple moments reminded me that school isn’t only about academics , it’s also about experiences that build confidence, friendships, and memories.
Day like this help me connect with my students beyond maths lessons. I get to see their personalities, their humour, and the strong bond they share as a group.
A lovely, festive afternoon and a perfect way to welcome the holiday season.
