Slovak in Action โ€“ An Open Day Full of Ideas and Connections ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ“š

Todayโ€™s Open Day beautifully showcased how, in Slovak lessons, we connect learning with other subjects in the spirit of the IB programme. The goal was to show parents and visitors that learning Slovak isnโ€™t only about writing and reading โ€” itโ€™s also about creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.

Year 2 delighted everyone with their poem about autumn, linking language learning with observing nature. Their performance brought a warm autumn atmosphere and joy of language to the day.

Year 4 presented their comics about healthy food, connecting Slovak with the topic of a healthy lifestyle. Through their imaginative drawings and texts, they showed that Slovak can be a fun way to talk about meaningful everyday topics.

Year 6 prepared interviews on various topics, which they recorded and presented during the day, as well as an interactive Kahoot game for visitors to test their Slovak knowledge โ€” and have some fun at the same time! By combining language, technology, and teamwork, they demonstrated that learning can be modern, creative, and meaningful.

It was an inspiring day full of energy, learning, and creativity. Thank you to everyone who came to support our students! โค๏ธ
