Academic game Battle of Minds – 2025

Last week, students took part in the academic game Battle of Minds – 2025. Preparations for it began on September 1st in the form of two new quotes that were updated every day. The students’ task was to remember the quotes and their authors, find interesting facts from their lives. On Thursday, September 11th, students created teams of 7-12 people each and, according to the instructions, began to earn virtual money by solving subject problematic questions of varying difficulty levels, compiled by our teachers. At the end of that day, each team had a certain amount on their virtual account.

Among Y 7-9, the best team was 8.1, which included Robert, Amir, Mark, Michal, Veronica, Karolina, Greta, Arnika. The students earned 2211 coins. Among Y 10-11, the best team was 10.2, which included Emiliia, Lexin, Anna, Serhii, Lorenzo, Michal, Emmy, Elly, Defne, Adam. The students earned 2832 coins. On Friday, September 12, the student teams began an intellectual competition. They answered various questions about quotes and their authors. Each question had its own price, which had to be paid for an incorrect answer or received a reward in case of a correct answer. The students competed in two categories. Among Y 7-9, the Winner was team 8.1. Among Y 10-11, the winner was team 10.2. These teams met in the final. One of the tasks was the “Black Box”, which contained an object that the students had to identify based on the description given. The competition was emotional. The students enthusiastically tried to answer the questions correctly. The result was a draw. Then the teams were given the last task – to write the names of the authors of the quotes from memory.

Team 10.2 won by one name. All of its participants were awarded Gold medals and ice cream (the medals were printed by our Ms. Jana on a 3D printer). The students of team 8.1 received Silver medals and ice cream.

The jury of the competition, represented by Mr. Thomas, Mr. Roman and Mr. Jim, asked the teams to choose one of the best players, who were also awarded commemorative medals and ice cream.

Thus ended our first Academic game “Battle of Minds-2025”.

A huge thank you to all the participants of this event: students and teachers.
