BUMP UP DAY

Bump-up Day is a school event typically held at the end of an academic year, where students “bump up” or move temporarily to the next grade level for a day. It gives them a chance to:

  • Meet future teachers

  • See their new classrooms

  • Get a preview of the curriculum or routines

  • Ease anxiety about the upcoming year

It’s mainly used in primary and middle schools to help students transition smoothly between year levels. In some schools, it’s also called Step-up Day, Transition Day, or Move-up Day.

Throughout the day, our Year 6 students had the opportunity to experience their Bump-up Day, following a specially curated timetable designed to give them a taste of Middle School life.

Here’s a glimpse into our students’ day of activities

A huge thank you to all the teachers and staff from both Primary and Academy for their time, energy, and coordination in making Bump Up Day a meaningful experience.

We’re also incredibly proud of our Year 6 students, their enthusiasm, curiosity, and willingness to step into something new made the day truly special.

This was just the beginning, and we can’t wait to see all they’ll achieve in Middle School!
