Year 8 Finishing Up PE Projects

With the holiday season (and a break from school) approaching, the basketball unit that MYP students here at EISB have been working on in Physical Education classes is coming to an end. Besides practicing and playing the game during our double lessons at Sportova Hala Domkarska, Students in MYP 1-5 also have a weekly theory class, where they have spent the last month working mostly in pairs on a basketball project – either a Google Slide presentation about an influential figure in the sport or a live lesson about some aspect of the game.

Students in Year 8 were putting the finishing touches on these projects on Thursday afternoon, their last class time to work before we begin presenting the projects in classes next week. For instance, Teo Tarda, who plays for local basketball club BK Inter Bratislava in the U-15 division, plans to run his classmates through a series of drills, including dribbling and lay-ups.

Some of the influential figures that Year 8 students have chosen to focus on include NBA legend Michael Jordan and WNBA and USA Basketball great Diana Taurasi. Year 8 will present their projects to their classmates next Thursday and Friday.
