Celebrating Our Year 2 PYP Kids: Finishing Their Last Exercise Book!

On 11th of June  we had a truly special moment in our Year 2 Slovak class—we finished the last exercise book! This milestone was a huge deal for our students because it meant they had mastered writing in a new type of script. To celebrate this fantastic achievement, we took a trip to our favorite ice cream spot, Rafaella, where we always mark our big wins.

The Journey to Success

The road to this point was filled with hard work and lots of fun. Our Year 2 students have been diligently practicing their writing every day. Each exercise book presented new challenges, but the kids tackled them with enthusiasm and determination. With each page they completed, their writing skills improved noticeably. As a teacher, I was there to guide them, offering support, tips, and plenty of encouragement.

It was incredibly rewarding to see the pride in the students’ eyes every time they finished a page. They knew they were making progress, and they celebrated each small victory with high-fives and cheers from their classmates. The camaraderie and mutual support were wonderful to witness.

The Big Celebration Day

When the last page of the final exercise book was complete, we knew a celebration was in order. This wasn’t just about finishing a book—it was about recognizing the growth and effort each student had put in. We decided that a trip to Rafaella for ice cream was the perfect way to celebrate this achievement.

Rafaella, our beloved ice cream parlor, has been the site of many happy moments for us, making it the ideal place to mark this occasion. The excitement was palpable as we prepared for our outing, with the children eagerly anticipating their well-deserved treat.

Ice Cream Fun at Rafaella

At Rafaella, the joy was contagious. The kids were thrilled as they chose their favorite ice cream flavors, from classic chocolate and vanilla to more adventurous picks like bubblegum and mango sorbet. The teachers joined in the fun too, making sure everyone got their perfect scoop.

While enjoying our ice cream, we reflected on our journey together. The students shared stories about their favorite exercises, the challenges they overcame, and the pride they felt in their accomplishments. It was heartwarming to hear them express their joy and confidence, knowing they had achieved something significant.

Celebrating the Small Wins

Our celebration at Rafaella was about more than just ice cream; it was a lesson in recognizing and celebrating every step forward. For our Year 2 students, this experience underscored that hard work and perseverance pay off, and it’s important to take time to enjoy the successes along the way.

Looking Ahead

Back at school, the students were still buzzing with excitement. Finishing the last exercise book was a significant milestone, but it’s just the beginning. The skills they’ve developed will be a strong foundation for their future learning.

In our Year 2 PYP class, we believe in celebrating every achievement, no matter how small. Our trip to Rafaella was the perfect way to mark this milestone, and we look forward to many more celebrations as our students continue to grow and succeed.

Here’s to many more milestones, hard work, and of course, plenty more ice cream celebrations!
