A Musical Day: House of Music Trip to Vienna
I would like to share the highlights of our recent trip to the House of Music in Vienna with our Year 7 students. This excursion was not only fun but also educational, offering our students a hands-on experience with the world of music.
The bus ride to the House of Music in Vienna was filled with chatter and anticipation. The journey took around an hour from our school in Bratislava to the museum. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the museum staff, who provided us with a brief overview of the day’s activities and what to expect.
Our first stop on the first floor was the Vienna Philharmonic Museum. Here, students learned about the prestigious Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra’s history and traditions. The interactive displays and historical artifacts caught their attention, offering a deeper understanding of the orchestra’s significance in the world of classical music.
Next, on the third floor there was a section dedicated to the great composers such as Mozart, Beethoven, Mahler and Strauss. The multimedia presentations were particularly engaging, helping students appreciate the lives and contributions of these musical legends.

Thank you for reading about rich history our students could experience in the House of Music. I look forward to writing more about exploring sound in the Sonosphere section and how our students became a virtual conductor in my next blog.
