Abracadabra Whizz Fizz Boom!

What does it mean to cast a spell on someone?

to use words thought to be magic, especially in order to have an effect on someone: The old woman cast a spell on the prince and he turned into a frog. The wizard cast a spell on her that turned her to stone. Halloween is full of magic, secrets, and fun. In the Intensive English lessons, we focused on this holiday as well. We learned new vocabulary, did an interactive quiz, played many exciting games, and learned about the history of this holiday.

Halloween is a holiday that is celebrated on the night of October 31st in various parts of the world, particularly in the United States, Canada, and some parts of Europe. It has its roots in ancient Celtic and Christian traditions and has evolved into a fun and spooky holiday celebrated with a variety of customs and activities.

Modern Halloween celebrations often include activities like trick-or-treating, where children dress up in costumes and go door-to-door to collect candy and treats. People also decorate their homes with spooky decorations, carve pumpkins into jack-o’-lanterns, and attend Halloween parties. It’s a time for creative and fun costumes, haunted houses, and a general atmosphere of spookiness and excitement.

The funniest activity we did was to cast a spell on someone. The children got pictures of a cauldron, special ingredients such as flies, frog legs, octopus arms, etc., and several magic words to choose from. The last paper had pictures with the final magic products, such as a leaping person, flying person, cat-dog person, etc. Everyone cooked their own magic potion and chose a person on whom they wanted to cast a spell. It was so much fun. No one wanted to be seen:))). The most entertaining part was to hear whom they cast spells on and what they turned into:)).
