Who were St. Cyril and Metod and what is HLAHOLIKA?
Cyril and Metod developed the first letters of our ancestors called HLAHOLIKA. This is one of the many reasons why they are important historic figures for us. Slovakia established a national holiday on the 5th of July as the day of St. Cyril and Metod.
Y4 and Y5 learned more about them and their work in early Slovak language development.
During the lesson students compared Slovak handwritten letters with the ones from Cyril and Metod. At the end they tried to write their own name using HLAHOLIKA.
