Teacher Feature: Mária Filazi Hurajová

Maria is our Primary Slovak Language instructor.

In 2016, she graduated with a master’s degree in primary education at University of Presov.

During her studies, she participated in two Erasmus + Mobilities program- in the Czech Republic and in Turkey. She was a part of a volunteering organization called ESN, where she took care of the new incoming foreigner Erasmus students. From this experience she was self-motived to acquire her English language skills.

After she graduated, she used her last chance to go for an Erasmus + internship in Turkey (Istanbul), where she learned about other methods and activities to help make the lessons enjoyable. She got inspired by other educational systems and teacher’s work which she tries to implement into her lessons.

Now she has a new passion, she is trying to learn another new language – Turkish.  She also used to be a dancer for 12 years, loves animals (especially cats), ballet and classical music such as Vivaldi. She likes to spend her free time in nature by reading a book or just enjoying the fresh air. She loves her job and can’t think of doing anything else.

After two years of working in an inclusive school she decided to join the EISB. She is used to being in a multicultural society and feels grateful to be a part of this community. And we are even more grateful to have her.
