Open house April 2026 Artworks

During the April open house 2026, a number of arworks were displayed from multiple classes. These houses are a part of the landscape in art history unit, which is the 3rd unit of year 7.

We’ve also done Munch – Scream reproductions, in which the students could swap the main figure for anything else.

The students were also encouraged to draw with pencils, learn about shading, and the different pencils and the values they offer.

Year 8 displayed a wide variety of works from their third unit – Abstract art.

Apart from sculpture, we’ve done a lot of painting, collages, pixel art, and more.

This is a result of Y8 and art club collaboration, inspired by the LA based artist Jen Stark.

Year 11 has completed their light art unit – each student made a lamp from scratch, including soldering LEDs, planning, making a cardboard mock up, and finally using thin foamboard to bring their visions into reality. This table also showcased some of year 12 and 13 student’s pottery.

The students of years 12 and 13 have an option to take a Visual Arts Course (non DP/AP) where they create their own 10 work portfolios. These works will be exhibited fully during the May exhibition, these are a few strongest works that are completed so far. The class of Year 9 will have their stop-motion movies presented during May exhibition, and the class of year 10 will have the fashion show on 7th of May as its own event.

We also had dozens of real, empty duck eggs, for people to paint on with posca/acrylic markers.

The egg stand was an instant success, and the results were eggcelent.

Here are some of the eggcelent eggs.

The students who attend the 3D modeling/drone flying club, also participated in the open house. They created 3D models, printed them, and then sold them to attendees.

Almost everything got sold out, and the students can proudly say, they made a profit with their creations.
