Hibernation + Maths = Fun! ❄️🧮🐾

🐻 The Bear’s Berry Adventure: Maths Meets Hibernation! 🍓❄️

Today, our classroom transformed into a magical forest, and our students became bears preparing for winter! 🐾

The challenge? Collect enough berries to survive hibernation. Over five days, students explored, counted, and even faced unexpected obstacles—on Day 3, the weather was bad, so the bear stayed inside. 🌧️

🌟 How the Adventure Unfolded

  • Students hunted for berries placed around the classroom—at ones, tens, and hundreds stations.
  • They practiced counting, addition, and subtraction while collecting and sharing berries.
  • By the end, they calculated the total berries, just like real bears preparing for winter!

🧠 Maths in Action

  1. Organize the berries – Students grouped berries by ones, tens, and hundreds to make counting easier.
  2. Use addition – Adding berries from each day to find the total collected.
  3. Use subtraction – Sharing berries with other bears and seeing how the total changed.
  4. Problem-solving – Adjusting for days when the bear couldn’t collect berries.

💡 Key Lessons Learned

  • Collaboration & Sharing – Bears shared berries, teaching that sharing is caring.
  • Hands-on Maths – Counting and calculating became a fun, real-life experience.
  • Planning & Adaptability – Students saw how preparation and strategy help overcome challenges.

🎉 The Result

By the end of the week, every student had lived the story of the bear—collecting, counting, and sharing berries. Maths wasn’t just numbers on a page, it became an exciting adventure that combined storytelling, teamwork, and real-life problem-solving.

This Maths Booster Story showed that learning can be fun, interactive, and unforgettable!
