Bake Sale Results – By Anna (CAS DP1)

For my CAS project this year, I have chosen to do a bake sale for my school during the Christmas celebrations with all the parents. It was originally a project between me and a few of my friends, but it has later spread to be an event that more than half of my class participated in, making it the largest in our school’s history so far. Altogether, we have brought a huge amount of baked goods ranging from cookies to brownies to even cheesecakes. 

The goal of this event was to raise money for two charities of my choice. While researching charities, my goal was to pick one that is a local Slovak charity, and one that is more international. I ended up going with Motýľ Nádeje, a slovak NGO helping to improve quality of life of those, who had been born or met with severe disability. My second choice was an Indian NGO called Educate girls. This organization focuses on supplying young girls from poor areas in India with education to give a chance at a future for these young girls.

My donation goal was to raise 400 euros, and after ten hours of selling and with the help of the candle club’s small donation, we were able to hit that goal. I must thank all of the people who participated in any way during this event, because without them this high donation goal could not have been reached.
