Aurelium Science Museum Field trip

Yesterday, our Year 4 students had the fantastic opportunity to visit the Aurelium Science Museum in Bratislava. This hidden gem is a hands-on, interactive space that brings science to life, and it certainly kept our students engaged from start to finish!

During our visit, we explored different types of energy—sound, light, kinetic energy, and more—through experiments and interactive exhibits. One of the highlights was our discussion about Nikola Tesla and his groundbreaking ideas on electricity. Students were fascinated to learn that electricity can be transmitted without wires and can even be “felt in the air”!

Tesla once said, “If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibrations.” At Aurelium, we discovered real-world examples of these principles in action.

The museum is affordable and accessible to a wide range of ages, from primary students to adults. There’s even a worksheet available to print in advance, filled

, and each time, we uncover something new! Unlike traditional museums, Aurelium encourages full interaction—students don’t just observe; they experiment, touch, and engage with every exhibit. It’s a place where science truly comes alive, and we can’t wait to go back next year!

When I was 8 years old one of my favorite things to do was to visit the market with my grandmother and eat a warm garlicky langoš. Little did I know at that time that it would be another 32 years until I would be at the same place, reminiscing about the beautiful memories of my grandmother while eating this delicacy. I call it the langoš 360. A 360 turn of living, studying and teaching around the world.
