Our trip to the Goethe Institute
While many of our learners from the German class in Y7 and Y8 were on a school trip in Turkey, the rest of us decided to go for a small trip to the city centre in Bratislava, to the Goethe Institute (the institute supporting the studies of German language and culture).
We linked this trip with a review of our practical knowledge about the tourist attractions in Bratislava and the skills of how to find the places on the map and how to get the correct bus information. Naturally, we tried to express most of it in the German language, though we still needed some more practice.
In the first picture, you can see our small group in front of the Presidential palace.
Later on, we moved to the Goethe Institute. We spent most of our time exploring the library, finding not only books, but also CDs, DVDs, and some games too.
The big surprise was to discover the โBibliothek der Dingeโ (โThe library of things”). In there, the members of the Library are allowed to borrow many useful and interesting things up to 2 weeks. For example, tents, ice-cream machine with the book how to prepare home-made ice, go-pro camera or virtual reality set and many more. If you are interested, just go and visit the Goethe Institute in Bratislava.
Kind Regards,
Miss Irena Holubcova and the German learners from Y7 and Y8.
