EISB’s Tadeáš Václavík Continues to Shine on the International Figure Skating Stage

At the English International School of Bratislava (EISB), students are encouraged to pursue excellence both academically and beyond the classroom. One inspiring example is Tadeas Vaclavik, an accomplished competitive figure skater who continues to achieve impressive results while balancing elite sport with his studies.

Competing on the International Stage

This season, Tadeáš reached an important milestone by competing at the World Junior Figure Skating Championships, one of the most prestigious events in junior figure skating.

Qualification for this championship requires strong performances in international competitions and national selections, making participation itself a significant achievement.

Podium Finish at the Merano Ice Trophy

During the season, Tadeáš also earned a bronze medal at the Merano Ice Trophy, an international competition that attracts talented skaters from across Europe. Achieving a podium finish in such a competitive field highlights both his technical ability and his composure under pressure.

Strong Performance at the Four Nationals Championships

Tadeáš also delivered a strong performance at the Four Nationals Figure Skating Championships,

a combined national championship event for several Central European countries. Competing in the senior men’s category, he finished 4th overall with a total score of 187.62 points, demonstrating his ability to compete successfully at a higher level while still eligible for junior competitions.

EISB’s Student-Athlete Development

Training as a competitive figure skater requires daily on-ice sessions, off-ice conditioning, choreography work, and international travel for competitions. Student-athletes balancing these demands alongside academic responsibilities requires discipline, time management, and determination.

For Tadeas, his improvements academically coincide with his rising achievements on the ice, demonstrating EISB’s student-athlete approach that mental and physical are not siloed individual developments, but are strongly integrated.

With growing international experience and steadily improving results, Tadeáš continues to develop as an athlete. His dedication, resilience, and passion for figure skating make him a wonderful representative of both the Czech skating community and the EISB student body.

Congratulations to Tadeas for his achievements both on and off the ice.

Looking Ahead

The EISB community is proud of his achievements and looks forward to following his continued progress on the ice.
