π Year 2 Data Detectives at EISB!

Today our little learners became Data Detectives! π΅οΈββοΈπ΅οΈββοΈ
As part of their Maths inquiry into the unit Healthy Choices, Year 2 designed and carried out their very own surveys. They confidently approached teachers across the school and asked thoughtful questions like:
-
What is your favourite fruit? πππ₯
-
Do you prefer pets like cats or dogs? πΆπ±
-
Which vegetables do you like best? π₯¦π₯
-
What is your favourite source of protein? π³π₯©
-
What colours make you happy? π¨
The children recorded each response with a βtick tickβ tally mark, counted the totals, and then organised their findings into tables and pictograms.
It was inspiring to watch how our young mathematicians are learning to:
β ask clear questions
β collect and count data accurately
β represent information visually
β make healthy and thoughtful choices using numbers
This hands-on experience connected Maths, inquiry skills, and wellbeing, making learning both fun and meaningful. π
We are so proud of our Year 2 inquirers who are discovering how numbers and data can help us make better choices every day. π‘
