Environmental Club and Year 6 Trip in Haus des Meeres, Austria
Our Environmental Club and Year 6 students recently went on an exciting trip to Austria to visit the Haus des Meeres, a live aquarium in Vienna. The children had a guided tour with a professional expert who introduced them to many fascinating species of fish, snakes, and many others.
They had the chance to touch real python skin and learned how and how often snakes shed their skin. The guide also explained interesting facts about various type of fish like pufferfish, sharks, and the children even got to see real shark jaws up close!
The students were amazed by giant tortoises, komodo dragons, colourful birds flying freely around, iguanas, and even monkeys. One of the highlights of the day was reaching the 11th floor, where we enjoyed a stunning view of the whole city of Vienna.
Before heading home, the group stopped at the souvenir shop on the ground floor, where everyone picked a small gift to remember this special day.
