¡Crea tu periódico!

Creating a four-page newspaper, was an exciting class project. This time, students designed their newspapers around famous people, important places, and international celebrations, exploring how real newspapers present cultural information clearly.

The first page, la portada, included a title, subtitle, image, and a short introductory article. Students introduced well-known figures and places using vocabulary such as actores famosos, ciudades históricas, monumentos importantes, and fiestas tradicionales, immediately capturing the reader’s interest.

On the second page, students wrote two or three news articles using numbers (cien, trescientos, mil, un millón), dates, and percentages (setenta y siete por ciento). They reported on events like un concierto de una celebridad, la visita a un museo famoso, or el inicio de una celebración nacional, practicing verbs such as celebrar, visitar, descubrir, and participar.

The final page featured opinion or innovation pieces. Students expressed ideas such as Es importante preservar las celebraciones tradicionales, Se necesita proteger los lugares históricos, or Es necesario valorar el trabajo de las personas famosas que inspiran a otros. This page encouraged students to connect cultural topics with real-world perspectives.
