Friday Night Lights Comes to Bratislava: EISB Homecoming 2026

An American tradition. A Bratislava first.

On Friday, 23 October, the English International School of Bratislava (EISB) invites the entire community to experience something special:

Friday Night Lights — Homecoming 2026!

Under the stadium lights, EISB Football will take on the Bratislava Monarchs in an evening filled with American football, music, entertainment, food, prizes, and school spirit.

And the best part? Admission is FREE, and everyone is welcome!

Whether you’re a lifelong American football fan, an international family missing a little taste of home, or someone simply looking for a great Friday evening, we’d love to see you there.

More Than a Football Game

In the United States, Friday Night Lights is more than a sporting event. It’s a tradition that brings students, families, alumni, friends, and entire communities together.

The football game is the centerpiece, but the atmosphere is what makes the evening memorable.

The lights. The music. The cheering. The excitement. The shared experience.

At EISB, we’re bringing that tradition to Bratislava — and making it our own.

Homecoming is also about reconnecting. We especially welcome former EISB students, families, and staff to come back, see familiar faces, and celebrate the community they’ve helped build.

Experience the EISB Spirit

At EISB, we believe some of the most important learning experiences happen beyond the classroom.

Students need opportunities to explore interests, discover talents, take on challenges, work with others, and find out what they’re capable of.

Our athletics program is part of that philosophy.

American football is a particularly exciting example. It demands teamwork, discipline, resilience, communication, and commitment. Players learn to trust one another, take responsibility, overcome mistakes, and work toward something bigger than themselves.

But EISB Homecoming isn’t just about the athletes on the field.

It’s about the students who help create the event, the families who bring it to life, the friends who come to cheer, and the community that grows around it.

A Night for Everyone

You don’t need to understand American football to enjoy Friday Night Lights!

Join us for:

• Live American football: EISB Football vs. Bratislava Monarchs
• Music and game-day entertainment: Bringing the energy of American high school football to Bratislava
• Halftime entertainment: More than football happening on the field
• Tombola and prizes: A chance to win while supporting our student-athletes
• Food and refreshments: Enjoy the evening with friends and family
• Community celebration: Meet students, families, alumni, and friends of EISB

All proceeds from food sales, the tombola, and voluntary donations will support EISB Athletics, helping us create more opportunities for students to play, learn, compete, and develop.

Love American Football? Want to Play?

EISB is developing something unusual in Central Europe: an American high school-style football program within an international school.

And we’re looking to grow!

If you’re a student living in Slovakia or elsewhere in Central Europe who has always wanted to try American football, we’d love to hear from you.

If you’re an American family stationed or living abroad, and your son is looking for an opportunity to continue playing the sport he loves, we’d love to connect.

Experienced player? Great.

Never played before? That’s fine, too.

Our goal is to create an environment where student-athletes can learn the game, develop their abilities, compete, and discover their potential.

Come to Homecoming, meet our coaches and players, and find out more about EISB Football. Or set up an appointment to join us during Spirit Week!
