Year 5 at Primary Camp
From 21 to 23 September, our Year 5 students joined the wider Upper Primary community for a memorable few days at Primary Camp in Prašnik. The camp gave students the opportunity to step away from their usual classroom routines and learn, explore and spend time together in a different environment.

Across the three days, students took part in a variety of activities designed to encourage teamwork, communication, creativity and confidence. They worked together during team-building challenges, took part in dance activities and enjoyed time outdoors with their classmates.
One of the special moments of the camp was the evening bonfire, which gave students the chance to relax together, talk, laugh and enjoy the experience as a group. These informal moments were an important part of the trip, helping students strengthen friendships and build new connections across the Upper Primary.

The camp also encouraged students to become more independent and responsible. Being away from home meant managing their belongings, following a shared schedule and working together as a community. Students had many opportunities to support one another, solve small problems and make sure that everyone felt included.
The experience connected particularly well with our current Year 5 inquiry into place, identity and belonging. Spending several days together in a new environment gave students an opportunity to think about what makes a group feel like a community and how shared experiences can strengthen our sense of belonging.
Most importantly, the camp was full of memorable moments, new experiences and plenty of laughter. It was wonderful to see the students enjoying themselves while developing the social and personal skills that are an important part of their learning.
