EISB is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of Year 7 student Hanka Ferancikova, whose team, HK Senec, has been crowned Slovak National Champions in girls’ handball.

Hanka was part of the HK Senec younger girls’ team that recently competed in the national finals, bringing together the top youth handball teams from across Slovakia. After progressing through the qualifying rounds and facing some of the country’s strongest teams, HK Senec emerged as champions, earning first place and the title of Slovak Champions in their age category.

This national title represents the highest level of achievement in Slovak youth handball and reflects the dedication, teamwork, and perseverance demonstrated by Hanka and her teammates throughout the season.

At EISB, we value the development of the whole student, and Hanka’s success is a wonderful example of the commitment, resilience, and determination that help students excel both inside and outside the classroom. Balancing school responsibilities with competitive sport requires discipline and hard work, and we are delighted to see those efforts rewarded.

In a short interview, Hanka told us about her passion for handball and her experience competing at a high level. She currently plays as a pivot and has already participated in several matches in the Slovak Championship, where her team achieved important victories.

Hanka explained that she has been playing for the same team for two years and dedicates a lot of time to improving her skills. She trains every day except on Mondays and weekends, showing strong discipline and commitment to the sport.

When asked about her future in handball, Hanka described it as “50% hobby and 50% professional,” showing that while she truly enjoys the game, she also takes it very seriously. Her dedication has already brought rewards, including medals and trophies earned through competitions.

She also mentioned that she feels supported by the city, which motivates her even more to continue growing as an athlete and representing her team with pride.

Hanka’s story reflects determination, balance, and passion, inspiring other students to pursue their interests both inside and outside the classroom.
