Student’s Work: A Poem In Slovak

Part of Year 8’s work was to design a didactic poem in the style of Gavlovič’s poetic work. These poems aim to teach people good manners and sometimes tell us a very simple story. All students took upon this job seriously, although there was one poem that stood out, written by our student Sofia. Here it is in it’s original form:

Keď ti budík zazvoní, hneď sa postav na nohy.
Pozri na posteľ, pekne si ju usteľ.
Skontroluj si úlohy a prezri si školské knihy.
Smeti vynes, nákup prines
a nachystaj dobroty, dosť už bolo roboty!

Do Starbucksu s babami, vylepší vám nálady.
Do Mekáča, na sushi, hneď je lepšie na duši.
Po meste sa pomotať, nové drinky ochutnať.
Ale pri tom nezabudni,
najskôr práca, potom blbni.
