EISB High School Camp

On 9 September, 54 EISB high school students and 7 teachers set off for a special event — the EISB High School Camp.
The journey to Čremošné passed quickly. We were lucky to have beautiful weather, and I enjoyed watching the Slovak landscape change as we travelled. After three years abroad, I found myself appreciating it in a different way. The mountains, forests, fresh air and sunny weather reminded me how beautiful Slovakia is.
When we arrived in Čremošné, the students settled into their rooms and we had our first lunch together. Then the camp officially began! The students were divided into seven groups, and throughout the camp they collected points by taking part in different activities and challenges. On the first afternoon, they could choose between sports activities and a short hiking trip to explore a cave.
In the evening, we played Rock, Paper, Scissors. What started as a simple game quickly turned into a surprisingly emotional and competitive battle! It was great to see how much enthusiasm and energy the students brought to the activity.

The second day was a little colder, but that did not stop us from enjoying the camp. We started with a traditional Slovak breakfast of fresh bread, rolls and vianočka. Later, some of us went on a hike and enjoyed beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Later in the afternoon, the students took part in a camp quiz, which included some funny and unexpected questions.
One of my favourite moments was the táborák — the campfire. It immediately brought back memories of the camps I attended as a child. Sitting around the fire, talking and simply spending time together created a completely different atmosphere from the classroom.
As a new teacher at EISB, the camp was also a wonderful opportunity for me to get to know my students and colleagues better outside the classroom. I enjoyed seeing a different side of the students and becoming more familiar with the EISB community. I am grateful to have been part of the EISB High School Camp and to have shared these moments with my students and colleagues. I would especially like to thank my colleagues for organizing everything so well. 
It was a great way to start the school year and a memorable experience for me as a new member of the EISB community.
