Summer Tips: Engage with German!

Summer holidays are here, bringing with them a time for relaxation and fun for our children. While it’s essential for them to enjoy their free time and engage in activities they don’t usually have time for during the school year, it’s also great if they can stay in touch with the German language over the summer. Here are a few tips for fun and educational videos your children can watch when they get bored. These programs are also favorites during our German classes.

Felix und Franzi

Felix und Franzi is a program created by the Goethe-Institut for children learning German. The main characters are puppets – Felix the frog and Franzi the duck. Together, they embark on various adventures that are not only entertaining but also educational. Children learn new words and phrases naturally through stories and songs.

Deutsch mit Socke

Deutsch mit Socke is a series of videos designed for children learning German. The main character is a cheerful sock named Socke, who experiences different situations with Esther. This program is excellent for beginners, as it uses simple language and many visual aids to help children understand.

Peppa Wutz

Peppa Wutz is the German version of the popular British series Peppa Pig. Peppa and her family go through everyday situations that are relatable and easy for children to understand. The series is full of humor and subtly teaches children basic German words and phrases. Since Peppa Wutz is very popular among children, watching this series will surely be fun and motivating for them.
