Art club – Hot air balloons
The second art club project of this year is a hot air balloon made with the paper-mache technique.
Students worked in small groups, the first step is to blow a balloon, tape it to a cup, and then cover it with 2 layers of newspaper with a 50-50 mixture of glue and water.
We covered the tables with painters foil, as this tecnique is notorious for being super messy. But fun!
Students of all ages collaborate together, and teach eachother.

This is one of the balloons in progress. The next step is to make it glossy, add small ropes, and a basket, so the model will appear as a complete hot air balloon. The main purpose of these is to be hung from the art room ceiling, I believe it’ll make the room even cooler.
