CAS During Summer – Imre DP2

Over the summer I spent most of my time visiting my family in the United States and had a lot of free time to work on my Internal Assessments and Extended Essay. However whenever I wasn’t working on assessments for school, my aunt had invited me to help with the merge of two schools. This meant that much of the furniture and books in one school were moved into the other one. They also did not have enough people to help with the process and were looking for volunteers to help organize and move the incoming school supplies. I volunteered to help organize some of the rooms in order to prepare them for the upcoming school year. First I was tasked with organizing the extra winter clothes as it gets very cold in my state during the winter and some of the underprivileged students at the school do not have proper winter clothing. Sorting the clothes consisted of sorting them by size, and the quality of the clothes (brand new, lightly used and used). I then had to label these clothes and put them in their respective rooms. This process took a full day of work but in the end resulted in the extra clothes closet being ready for winter. I also had to sort the uniform clothes for the children as they had many pieces of clothing left over.

I also spent much of my free time playing the guitar and improving my skills as I didn’t have access to my primary instrument, the piano. I have been taking guitar lessons for a year now and really wanted to improve my skills over the summer and spent much of my time learning songs from different genres and learning different styles of playing.
