What happens when you put students in the teacher’s seat? Our Spanish class recently found out through a project that flipped the script on traditional language learning.

The goal was simple: to help students see language learning from the other side of the desk. After picking a topic they were passionate about, going from food to favorite sports, students became instant “experts.” But knowing the material was only half the battle. The real test was figuring out how to actually teach it.

Students had to step into their classmates’ shoes, planning how to break down tricky vocabulary, keep the room engaged, and explain concepts clearly. After leading their mini-lessons, they wrapped things up with creative games and activities to see what stuck.
