Healthy Summer Snack Fun – A Simple Recipe from Our PE Lesson
During the holiday season, keeping kids active and energised is just as important as during the school year. That’s why in our PE lesson, we decided to combine movement with something equally important —
healthy eating.
This time, we made a quick, tasty, and nutritious summer snack that children can easily prepare on their own at home. It’s simple, fun, and perfect for hot days when we need something refreshing and energizing.
Our Ingredients:
- Bananas
- Peanut butter
- Chocolate
- Nuts
How we made it:
First, peel the bananas and cut them in half.
Dip one half of each banana into peanut butter, then dip it into melted chocolate.
Sprinkle with nuts on top and place the bananas in the freezer for about 30 minutes.
After that… just enjoy! ![]()

Why is this important?
During summer and hot weather, our bodies need proper nutrition to stay strong, hydrated, and full of energy. Healthy snacks help children maintain their energy levels, support their growth, and reduce the need for overly processed sugary treats.
The best part?
Children can prepare this snack themselves! It builds independence, confidence, and encourages them to make better food choices. And yes — parents, you’ll definitely want to try it too
(fair warning: one portion might not be enough
).
This activity is also part of our PE lessons, where we don’t just focus on movement, but also on building a healthy lifestyle. Teaching children how to take care of their bodies — through both exercise and nutrition — is something that will stay with them for life.
Healthy habits don’t have to be boring… sometimes they’re frozen, chocolatey, and absolutely delicious!
Enjoy your summer and stay active! ![]()
