π Year 11 Mathematics Presentations: Bearings and Trigonometry
Today, our Year 11 Mathematics students presented topics on bearings, the Sine Rule, the Cosine Rule, and the applications of trigonometry.
Students confidently explained their methods, solved problems step by step, and demonstrated how trigonometry connects to real-world situations such as navigation, distances, and angles. Their presentations reflected preparation, teamwork, and a growing confidence in communicating mathematical ideas.
One of the most rewarding parts of the lesson was watching students engage with one another through discussion and explanation. They challenged ideas, asked thoughtful questions, and supported their classmates throughout the presentations.

As a teacher, I always appreciate moments like these because they allow students to take responsibility for their own learning while developing important communication and reasoning skills.
Todayβs presentations reminded us that mathematics is not only about formulas and calculations , it is also about understanding, collaboration, and confidence.
