Boat trip 2024

Another of our annual boat trip has come to an end. This time, about 40 students signed up, but only 25 went on the adventure, and most of them were participating for the fourth time. The backbone of our team was the Y10, led by scout “Kotlik”: Jan, Vojta, Viktor, Mykhailo, Natasha, Matvii, Radovan, Sashka, Laura, Adela, Peter, Sharlotta, Maksym, Rhouzhin. You could rely on these guys in everything: they helped pull the catamarans to the bank, chopped wood, lit and maintained the fire, helped put up the tents.

The weather was hot. The air temperature was about +30, and the water temperature was +20. From Nova Dedinka to the Pod Križom camp, we swam for about 6 hours at an average speed of 6 km / h. When it got really hot, we jumped into the cool water of the Little Danube and after 20-30 minutes our bodies were filled with strength and energy again. Very often we connected several catamarans together. In this case, the speed dropped, but the mood rose. It is always more interesting in a large company, there is something to talk about, sing songs, laugh. The first to reach the Pod Križom camp was the catamaran led by Mr. Thomas. In the camp, tent houses and a delicious dinner were waiting for us.

Then we played volleyball, frisbee, football, doused ourselves with water, played tag, and in the evening, listening to the songs of mosquitoes (and there were an awful lot of them this year), sat by the fire and discussed various conspiracy theories. Oddly enough, this topic was interesting to the guys. Radovan, Matyas, Vincent led the discussion, involving teachers and classmates in it. In the morning after breakfast, we again got on the catamarans and sailed to Elka. The journey took 2 hours. In the restaurant “U Ernest” we had a tasty lunch, rested and continued the journey to the camp in Potonskie Luky. Three hours flew by very quickly. We liked the new overnight place from the last time. Shower, toilet, tables under a canopy, two well-equipped places for fires and, of course, a good, friendly, hospitable hostess. She cooked us delicious goulash for dinner, and a Swedish breakfast in the morning. In the evening, with a group of children, we went on an excursion around the village and its surroundings.

There was a pleasant, friendly atmosphere among the children. We recalled previous hikes, stories from school life, jumped over puddles, took a lot of photos. Then there was an evening campfire, a night in tents and a farewell photo.
On behalf of the children, a huge thank you to our teachers: Mr. Thomas, Mr. Raphael, Mr. Godfred, Ms. Geovanna and her sister, Ms. Alkistis, without whom this boat trip would not have happened.
On behalf of the teachers, we thank all 25 of our students for their enthusiasm and openness to adventure. Without this, our trip also would not have happened. I hope that this good tradition will continue, and next year we will all gather together again under the starry sky around a bonfire on the bank of the Little Danube.
