MVP Tardova and Slovan place 4th at Nationals

Slovan Girls basketball and EISB’s Tamara Tardova competed recently in the Slovak National Championship Tourney for the first time in club history.  16 of the top teams around the country.

After early victories, Slovan found themselves in the Final Four.  In the semi, Slovan met with powerhouse and Nationals favorite Kosice.  Slovan made a strong showing in the fist half, but the strength and experience saw Kosice pull away in the 2nd and secure the win to make it to the finals, with Slovan playing for 3rd against Stara Tura.

Slovan started off strong against favored Stara Tura, up by as much as 15 points in the first half. However, Slovan’s youthful enthusiasm wasn’t enough to overcome fatigue and injuries against Stara Tura’s experience who stole the win, giving Slovan 4th place.

Overall, an excellent and historical showing for the aspiring Slovan team led by Tardova, who was also awarded the Most Valuable Player for the 2021-2022 season.

Congratulations for both Team and individual achievements.
