Becoming Change Makers

Year 5 Final Group Project: Becoming Change Makers

This year, our Year 5 students embarked on an inspiring journey to become change makers within our school community. We focused on how we can make EISB a more welcoming place for everyone. One important aspect we explored was how to improve ourselves and manage our emotions, especially when they start to feel overwhelming.

To tackle this, we researched various breathing techniques and coping skills designed to help manage our emotions effectively. Our students took this knowledge and created a video aimed at sharing these valuable insights with our community, assisting others in their own coping processes.

Today was a significant milestone as our Year 5 students had the opportunity to present their project to the Year 2 students. They bravely introduced their work, explained its purpose, and led the younger students through breathing exercises. It was heartwarming to see the connection formed between the two year groups, as our Year 5 students took the lead in fostering a supportive environment.

We are incredibly proud of our students for their dedication and courage in sharing their knowledge. Together, we are making strides towards creating a more welcoming and emotionally aware school community.
