Paris Trip: Palace of Versailles

Another remarkable historical place we visited on our Paris trip was the Palace of Versailles, a magnificent testament to French royalty and history.

What started as a simple hunting lodge built by Louis XIII in the early 1600s was completely transformed by his son, Louis XIV, into the grand palace we see today, which served as the heart of political power in France for many years.

Versailles is famous for its breathtaking gardens, the dazzling Hall of Mirrors, and for being the site of many historical events, such as the proclamation of the German Empire and the signing of the Treaty of Versailles, which ended World War I.
