MYP3/Gr8 Artistic statement

As a part of the artistic statement unit in MYP3/Gr8, the students dedicate one double lesson to studying the art of Keith Haring, an iconic artist who was famous for fighting for human rights. Durint the unit, each student had a task of identifying an issue in the world, that they wish would change for the better. By creating artwork related to these issues, artists have the power to change the world for the better, to bring awareness, and to have a positive influence.

Our approach to Keith Haring inspired artwork was based in mixed media, especially collage with painting elements, but also not shying away from assemblage.
